Flights from Canada to Czech Republic

Prague's Václav Havel Airport (PRG) is the main entry point for international patients. Air Canada operates a seasonal nonstop service from Toronto over the summer months, with multiple weekly flights at the height of the season. Outside the summer, the Toronto route runs with one connection through a European hub.

Fares are indicative and shift with season and booking lead time. Late autumn and early spring, outside the Christmas window, are typically the most economical months to travel.

Where to Stay

Most international patients stay in central Prague, near the leading clinics. Districts that pair short medical transfers with safe, walkable streets include New Town (Nové Město), the area around the Anděl and Smíchov metro stations, and Vinohrady just east of the centre. From these areas, hospitals are usually a 10 to 20 minute taxi or metro ride. Mid-May through June and the month of September are the most comfortable windows for recovery, with mild temperatures, dry streets, and moderate rainfall. Winters are cold and can leave icy sidewalks, which is the one seasonal point that matters most after orthopedic surgery.

Safety and Travel

The Government of Canada places Czechia at its lowest travel risk level, "Take normal security precautions." Violent crime is uncommon, and Prague ranks among the safer European capitals for international visitors. The realistic day-to-day risk is pickpocketing in crowded central areas such as Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, Wenceslas Square, and the main metro and rail stations; organised groups use distraction techniques.

Use a zipped bag, keep your phone out of back pockets, and stay alert at busy junctions. The general emergency number is 112 and is answered in English.
